Sigiriya & Pidurangala

Rise early to climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress before the heat and crowds, taking in frescoes, the mirror wall, and sweeping summit views. After breakfast, enjoy a village experience with a bullock-cart ride and optional cycling. At sunset, ascend Pidurangala Rock for a striking photographic angle back onto Sigiriya. Overnight in Sigiriya.

Spice Country to Kandy

Drive to Kandy through spice-growing country, stopping to see cinnamon, pepper, and cardamom up close. Spend the afternoon among giant bamboo avenues and orchid houses at the Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya. In the evening, witness the Temple of the Tooth’s evening ritual followed by Kandyan dance and drumming. Overnight in Kandy.

Day

05

Into Tea Country

Climb through mist-draped hillsides and terraced estates toward Nuwara Eliya. Visit a working tea factory and plucking fields, tasting Ceylon tea while overlooking the plantations. Spend a leisurely afternoon in Nuwara Eliya’s cool colonial atmosphere, with an optional walk around Gregory Lake. Overnight near Nuwara Eliya ahead of an early train.

Day

06

Nanu Oya to Ella by Rail

Board the celebrated scenic train from Nanu Oya to Ella, threading through tea estates, pine forests, tunnels, and waterfalls, with the Demodara loop and Nine Arch Bridge visible en route. Day

11

Whales & a Second Surf Session

Join an early morning whale watching excursion from Mirissa (seasonal November–April) with photography-friendly boat positioning for blue whales, sperm whales, and dolphins.
