01

Colombo Welcome

Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport and transfer to Colombo, settling into a boutique city hotel that blends heritage character with modern comfort. Spend the afternoon exploring colonial quarters, bustling streets, hidden cafes and local markets. Round off the day with rooftop dining overlooking the Indian Ocean before an easy first overnight in the capital.

Spice Gardens to the Hills

Drive inland toward Kandy as coastal plains give way to lush tropical hills. Stop at a traditional spice garden to explore Sri Lanka’s Ayurvedic and culinary heritage. In the evening, witness the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic during its atmospheric evening ceremony before settling into a boutique hillside stay in Kandy.

Village Cycling & Cooking

Cycle through quiet village roads, rice paddies, and rural Kandy countryside on a peaceful morning ride. Join a hands-on Sri Lankan cooking class inside a traditional village home to learn authentic recipes. In the evening, take a lakeside walk around Kandy Lake or enjoy an optional traditional dance performance before overnighting in Kandy.

Scenic Rail to Ella

Board one of the world’s most scenic train rides, winding past waterfalls, tea plantations, and misty mountain villages en route to Ella. Spend the afternoon exploring relaxed mountain cafes and soaking in the cool highland atmosphere. Overnight in a scenic mountain lodge surrounded by rolling tea country landscapes.

Pekoe Trail Tea Trek

Trek a section of the famous Pekoe Trail through the Nayabedda tea estate near Bandarawela, discovering plantation life, panoramic viewpoints, and cloud forest scenery. Spend time with tea-growing communities and take in the highland pace of life. Enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by cool mountain scenery, overnighting in Bandarawela.

Nine Arches to Arugam Bay

Visit the Nine Arch Bridge before descending from the highlands to the laid-back east coast surf town of Arugam Bay. Optionally join a Panama-Kumana night safari for wildlife spotting (best May–Sept). Settle into a beachfront surf retreat for a relaxed overnight by the ocean.

Kumana Wilderness Safari

Spend a full day exploring Kumana National Park’s wetlands, spotting elephants, crocodiles, and migratory birds with a picnic lunch in the bush. Expert local trackers share insight into wildlife behaviour, migration patterns, and conservation efforts (best birdwatching April–July). Unwind with a relaxed evening by the beach, overnighting in Arugam Bay.

Kudumbigala Views & Yala Arrival

Optionally hike at sunrise to Kudumbigala Monastery Rock for sweeping coastal and forest views, then enjoy free time surfing or relaxing on the beach. Travel south toward Yala National Park, with an optional sunset safari searching for leopards, elephants, and sloth bears. Overnight in an immersive wilderness safari camp.

Yala Leopard Territory

Spend a full day tracking wildlife through Yala National Park’s varied terrain with experienced naturalists, spotting elephants, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife over a bush picnic lunch (best leopard sightings February–July). Close the day with fireside dining beneath the stars, overnighting near Yala.

Mirissa Surf & Coast

Travel to Mirissa on Sri Lanka’s vibrant southern coast for a day of surfing, beach relaxation, or exploring Coconut Tree Hill and coastal cafes. Optional whale watching (November–April) or beginner surf coaching are available. Settle into a boutique beachside stay for the overnight.

Galle Fort Heritage Walk

Continue along the coast to the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, wandering colonial streets, artisan boutiques, independent cafes, and galleries while meeting local creatives. Enjoy a sunset walk along the ramparts overlooking the Indian Ocean. Overnight in a heritage-style boutique stay within or near the Fort.

Coastal Return to Colombo

Enjoy a relaxed coastal morning before heading back toward Colombo, with optional stops at scenic viewpoints or artisan spaces en route. Spend the evening exploring boutique stores, contemporary galleries, and rooftop bars as the city’s urban culture comes alive. Overnight in Colombo.

Departure

Enjoy a final relaxed morning before a private transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport for departure, taking home lasting memories of Sri Lanka’s wildlife, surf culture, mountain trails, scenic rail journeys and immersive local encounters across the island.
